What is the Realwed Method?

The Realwed Method is based on a radical principle: my style is you. I don't apply a predefined photographic approach to every couple. I study you, connect with you, build empathy and adapt my skills to your unique wedding. Every couple becomes an unrepeatable project with its own visual identity.

I'm afraid of looking stiff or awkward in front of the camera. How do you help?

I never pose you. I accompany you naturally, guiding you gently in a relaxed and trusting atmosphere. The couples I work with tell me they forgot they had a photographer — and that is exactly my goal. This is why I created the Realwed Method.

What is the main difference between you and other wedding photographers?

Most wedding photographers apply their own style to every wedding. I do the opposite: I study each couple and create a unique style for them. For me, the protagonists are not the photographer, but the couple.

Do you work outside Umbria?

Yes, I work throughout Italy and internationally. I am based in Foligno, Umbria, and regularly work in Spoleto, Perugia, Assisi, Montefalco, Todi and Orvieto, covering the whole of Italy. Travel expenses are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How do you prepare us before the wedding?

Before the wedding we meet in person or by video call to get to know each other. I ask you questions about how you imagine your wedding, explain the timeline of the day, and build trust and empathy before the big day. The Realwed pre-wedding session also helps you overcome any awkwardness in front of the camera.

When you start searching for a wedding photographer, one of the first things you’ll hear about is this: style.

“What photography style do you like?… What’s that photographer’s style?…Reportage, fine art, or cinematic?” But… what does a photography style really mean?

A photography style is a language… but sometimes just a label.

In theory, a wedding photography style is simply a way of seeing and telling real moments through images. Each photographer brings their own vision, shaped by personal taste, experience, and sensitivity. That’s perfectly fine.

The issue comes when a “style” becomes a fixed label. Instead of helping you understand how someone works, it pushes you to follow a trendy aesthetic — even if it doesn’t really reflect you as a couple.

Most common wedding photography styles

In the wedding industry, there are a few photography styles that come up often:

Reportage (documentary-style)
Fine art
Fashion/editorial
Traditional
Cinematic

Each of these wedding photography styles has its strengths — but also its limitations. I’ll go deeper into that in the next article, where I’ll explore them one by one.

Why should you know the difference?

Because knowing the styles helps you make an informed choice when booking your wedding photographer. Not to become an expert — but to figure out what truly resonates with you and what’s just a passing trend.

And maybe, you’ll discover that you don’t need to choose a predefined style. You just need to find someone who listens, understands, and tells your story in an authentic way.

My advice? Don’t follow the trend. Follow your story.

Don’t look for the wedding photographer that fits a popular style. Look for someone who adapts to you — someone who captures your moments with honesty, attention, and without forcing you into a style that’s not yours.
